Q: DSGVO & Backend Language
Is a German-language backend planned, and is there a public product roadmap?
Also, when do you expect the platform to become fully GDPR-compliant? This is a crucial requirement for us, as GDPR compliance is mandatory in Germany and many other EU countries. Without proper compliance, companies may face significant legal and financial risks when using the platform.
It would therefore be very helpful to know whether full GDPR compliance is already on your roadmap and, if so, when you expect it to be implemented.

Sep 25, 2026A: Hi R2D2, thanks for the thoughtful questions.
Surfn agents already support German-language conversations, and you can set German as the agent’s Primary Language. The Surfn dashboard/admin interface itself is currently in English. Expanding dashboard localization is something we’re open to as the platform grows, but we don’t have a confirmed timeline for a German-language interface yet.
We also don’t currently publish a public product roadmap. We’re building quickly based on customer feedback and regularly share new updates and improvements as they go live.
On GDPR, Surfn is not yet formally GDPR compliant, and we don’t currently offer EU/EEA-specific data residency. GDPR compliance, along with SOC 2, is on our roadmap and is an area we plan to work toward as we continue strengthening the platform’s privacy, security, compliance, and related documentation.
We don’t have a firm release date to announce yet, so I don’t want to give you a timeline we can’t confidently stand behind.
Today, Surfn uses established cloud infrastructure and commercial AI APIs with security and access controls in place. Surfn does not use customer data to train our own AI models, and the commercial AI APIs we use do not use API inputs and outputs for model training by default.

We completely understand that formal GDPR compliance can be a requirement for companies in Germany and other EU countries, and we’ll share updates as that work progresses.
Thanks again for raising this. Feedback like this is very helpful as we prioritize what matters most to customers. Please feel free to email us directly if you have any specific feature requests or requirements you’d like us to consider.
