Customers are all about Kan, praising its clean simplicity, visual appeal, and user-friendly interface. The addition of multiple workspaces in Tiers 2 and 3 has addressed the previous limitation, and the founder has indicated that if there's demand for even more workspaces down the line, they'll consider adding a new tier to support it. Kan is a solid buy for those in need of a project management tool, and since this product is refundable, customers are encouraged to give it a try, as there's a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Backing the Vision & Excited for the Missing Pieces
I picked up Kan.bn because I genuinely like what the developer is building. The clean, minimalist approach immediately stood out to me, and after years of using Trello, I was interested in supporting a product that feels focused rather than bloated.
The UI is excellent. It’s simple, easy to navigate, and doesn’t try to overwhelm you with features. In a world where every productivity tool seems determined to become an all-in-one operating system for your life, Kan.bn’s restraint is refreshing.
That said, I’m investing in the future of the platform as much as its current capabilities.
The feature that initially grabbed my attention was MCP. That’s something I don’t currently have in my workflow, and the potential is significant. Being able to interact with project data through AI tools could become a genuine productivity multiplier. It’s one of the primary reasons I decided to buy in now rather than wait.
However, the biggest obstacle preventing me from moving my team over today is notifications.
I recently spent a weekend traveling and realized just how important real-time updates are to my workflow. One of the most useful things about my current setup is being able to receive a notification, tap it on my phone, immediately see what a team member updated, and respond within seconds.
Email notifications aren’t the same thing. Having to search through an inbox to find project updates adds friction where there shouldn’t be any. For me, notifications aren’t a nice-to-have feature. They’re essential.
My priorities are fairly straightforward:
1. Notifications
2. Mobile and desktop apps
3. MCP
All three matter, but they solve different problems. Notifications keep teams connected. Dedicated apps make the platform accessible wherever work happens. MCP has the potential to fundamentally improve how I interact with project information.
A standalone desktop application would be particularly valuable. One thing I appreciate about Trello is being able to keep it running independently instead of buried among dozens of browser tabs. The same goes for mobile. Being able to quickly check in with my team while away from my desk is increasingly important.
So, with that stated, I will continue to wait for these things to be implemented before moving over. I hope these roadmap items come sooner than later.
There are also a few smaller improvements I’d love to see. Card covers or images would make boards easier to scan visually. Themes may help with this depending on how they’re implemented. I’d also like a little more flexibility around workspace limits. I purchased the middle tier because my team is relatively small, but two workspaces feels a bit tight. Even a modest increase would provide more room to grow.
To the developer’s credit, feature requests do seem to receive attention. Additional workspaces were added after user feedback, which is encouraging and suggests the roadmap is actively evolving based on user needs.
Right now, Kan.bn has something many productivity tools struggle to achieve: a strong foundation, a clear identity, and a developer who appears to be listening.
I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes over the next several months. If notifications, dedicated apps, and MCP continue to develop as planned, I can absolutely see Kan.bn becoming a serious contender for my team’s daily workflow.
This is a 5-taco review not because Kan.bn already does everything I need, but because I believe it can. The foundation is there, the vision is clear, and I’m excited to see how the platform evolves.

Love it!
I really love how clean and simple kan.bn is. He's done a great job with the UI and the PWA is nice too. Feels just like an app except it opens on the website's home page instead of the app page so its always 2 clicks to get to your boards.
Like the previous 2 reviewers said, I really wish we had unlimited Workspaces. Even with the 4 in Tier 3, I'd be combining things in workspaces so I ended up just getting Tier 2. I know he's mentioned adding additional tiers with more Workspaces but I only have 1 user and would only need a couple boards per workspace... I really don't want to pay anymore than $199 for a kanban tool. Would be great if he bumped Tier 2 up to like 10 and Tier 3 to unlimited. I'd upgrade for that. Either that or just put a storage cap on each tier and let us purchase additional workspaces directly from you (or the Appsumo deal).
The other things I'd really love to see are:
- CNAME per workspace so we can brand the URL
- Ability to move cards between lists (and workspaces)
- Ability to drag and drop files into a card
Overall though its a solid app! Really well done, thank you.

Jun 15, 2026Hey WhitneyLA,
Thank you so much for the great review, really glad you're enjoying Kan!
- PWA opening to homepage instead of straight to boards: this is something we can change, I'll take a look into that.
- More workspaces: sounds like there's a lot of demand for this, between you and other recent reviews. We'll explore what that might look like and share more when available.
- CNAME per...

Love the simplicity
After using Notion for quite a while to plan new business together with my husband, I could work with it even though it is overcomplicated. My husband clearly hated the setup, so I presented Kan to him. We decided to buy the highest tier. I am still setting things up, but I really love the simplicity. The UI looks great too!
There are a few things that could improve my experience:
- More workspaces! We have 4 right now, which covers the businesses we run + one personal workspace. I wish I could have my personal workspace in Kan as well. But the best option would be to create about 20 workspaces, or unlimited workspaces with a storage limit, so that I could invite my clients to a dedicated workspace for their design project.
- Board covers, we are visual people running photography, art and design businesses. Plus, I would love to use Kan for stuff like a personal Goodreads, so adding book covers and having them show in the board would be very useful
- Lastly, a timeline view would be awesome but not a necessity at this point.
- I can't wait for dedicated apps for our Macs and iPhones.
I hope Kan will develop further, but keep it simple!

Edited Jun 15, 2026Hey Nicolet,
Thank you very much for the kind words, I'm really glad to hear you're both enjoying Kan!
I've spent a lot of time in Notion too and I agree, like Trello it's become bloated and complex over time. Keeping Kan simple is something I care a lot about, so that's great to hear it's also important to you.
- More workspaces: I haven't got anything to share just yet but if there's enough...

Really enjoying Kan. Simple to use, plays well with Claude, and keeps my workflow organized.
Wishlist:
- Drag-and-drop or paste file upload into cards (fewer clicks = better UX)
- More workspaces on AppSumo — I'd rather have 1 member + unlimited workspaces for example. 4 client workspaces will burn quick.
- Mobile is ~okay via PWA; would love to see native/remote-work development.
5 tacos strong. Keep up the good work.

Jun 7, 2026Hey griphy,
Thanks for the kind words - really glad to hear you're enjoying Kan!
- DND uploads: good news, you can actually do this already. It is currently limited to one file at a time though, I will get a fix out for that.
- More workspaces: we might introduce a higher tier with more workspaces if there's enough demand. Board-level permissions are also on the roadmap, which might help with...

Review from a Home User
I do not own a business and at the tail end of my IT career. I always loved the Kanban concept of organizing projects. I am now looking to fit this into my home life. I am a musician and always involved in recording projects and this will be perfect to keep track of the process from writing the music up until the finished mixed and mastered song. I can keep all my notes and information in each card and can always go back and see how I created the music.
I am also always involved in home tech projects with complex setup etc. and just being able to track and have detailed notes in one board will be awesome. I know there are other products that could fit my uses. But I love giving new products a go and seeing what I can do with them. I look forward to really kicking the tires on this product and offering my opinion on my experiences and possible changes that might help make things even better. I look forward to seeing what Kan turns into. So far it is clean and works perfectly.
