Flonnect Reviews

Hello,
Unfortunately, working with Flonnect is VERY frustrating.

1st, unfortunately, you can't select a custom area on the screen to record. You are required to select a window, a browser tab, or the entire screen for recording.

🙈 1. Ironically, Flonnect is designed to create tutorials. But Flonnect apparently can't manage to use its own product to create tutorials showing how to work with Flonnect

🥴 2. There is a “demo” video, but it's 100% useless. Just marketing fluff.

⚠️ 3. With the license, you can make 30 or 100 videos per month. While you try to figure out how to use Flonnect, you’ve probably already made 20 completely useless test recordings.
❯ Videos that are < 60s shouldn’t count toward the “videos per month” quota.

🥴 4. Flonnect has issues with terminology; sometimes it calls functions “Record,” sometimes it's called “Share” - and it’s 100% confusing.

⁉️ 5. For some recordings, I have a timeline where I can edit them, but for others, this option isn’t available.

😟 6. The Flonnect Dashboard doesn’t explain the difference between “Screen Record,” “Bug Report,” “Screenshot,” and “Presentation.”

😱 7. If you want to select the webcam to be used in recordings, it’s COMPLETELY unclear how to do it: There’s NO option to select the webcam in the default settings.

About 10 minutes ago, I happened to stumble upon a hidden option to select a webcam (now I can't find it again) — but it's a nightmare:

7.1) There is no webcam preview in the webcam configuration
7.2) There is also no webcam preview before you start the recording
7.3) You can’t see a webcam preview while recording either
7.4) In the recorded video... the webcam is missing

😥 8. When you're editing a video or the timeline, there's no way to get back to the dashboard. You can't delete the Video you're editing.

⁉️ 9. I have three webcams, and I'm pretty sure that Flonnect isn't activating the one I selected: I can see an image in the Windows Camera app, but in Flonnect the screen is black.

😍 I think Flonnect has great features, but when it comes to the six most important basic functions, the usability is unfortunately a nightmare (Webcam selection, -settings, -preview. The configuration right before you start a recording. Explanations of what each function is doing and of what a setting is for (e.g., domain name for bug reports⁉️ ) and consistently clear terminology.

I'm surprised there's not more reviews for Flonnect. To be fair, there were some early issues, especially with the credit system, but everything has been addressed and fixed and the team has been very responsive. I have primarily used Flonnect for attending meetings on my behalf when I can't make it. It does a fantastic job. It records the entire meeting, provides a transcript, provides a detailed summary, and many other features. I use this four or five times a week and it can continues to produce amazing results.

The start was a bit rough since password reset emails didn’t arrive, but support was fast and helpful.

The tool itself is excellent with an intuitive dashboard and stable performance. There’s an issue using the Chrome extension in Edge, causing console errors, but the Windows app works perfectly.

Recording, uploading, trimming, and sharing videos is simple and works as expected. I haven’t tested the AI features yet since I don’t currently need them, and given that AI is still evolving, I didn’t have high expectations there.

1 week with Floconnect, with high hopes after reading the initial reviews.
Straight forward 'screen recording' was simple enough and my first port of call. Did what it needed to do, I also really liked the way I could personalise the space with the 'Brand Kit'. Today I needed to do a step guide and this is what I purchased this for, my previous experience with this was with Scribe, so would be my benchmark.
First off you need an additional plug-in to do this, which was annoying, but I added to Chrome - I then started my steps, but the plug-in was still showing '0'??
3 attempts later after discarding previous attempts, I realised there is a small amount of lag, apparently this is deliberate, but has now been tweaked, so not as long.
I had some AI issues as well, but a message via Chat to support with details and the issue was resolved within 24 hours!!
Editing was initially complicated for me, but after jumping on a video call with them - we found the issue was me selecting the wrong type of step guide. Had I chose the non-HTML option I would have had no problems, and discovered that there is so much more you can edit and change. Floconnect also took time to understand my use case, offered some tips and showed me some features that would be useful. I have gone from being a 'little frustrated' to very positive about how this will improve our business and help customers. Looking forward to doing more and happy with the support that was shown. Hopefully, they can get some good step-guides and tips on the website on how to make the most of their product (using their own product). So take advantage of the lifetime subscription, you wont be disapointed!

Recording seems to work fine. However the edits are impossible. No manual options to make the edits and the AI... the AI is horrible. We were able to make 1 of the 8 edits we attempted. Ending video at 7:35 instead of 8:00. All the other edits (trims such as remocing from 1:30 to 2:00) were unable to be processed via AI and no tools to do it manually. Basically, if you need to edit your video/screenshare, this tool is not ready for you yet.
