Q: I think most have this same disconnect as i do so let me ask.

I really like the idea behind your product, but I think there are a few foundational pieces that aren’t clearly explained, and clarifying them could make it much easier for people to see the value.

First, why are “pings” important for a video? I understand they relate to SEO, but I’d like more clarity on how these backlinks actually contribute to video growth and visibility.

Second, regarding syndication: do I need to have accounts on all the platforms where links are being sent, or is this limited to platforms I already own? Are these links being posted on my profiles (like Tumblr), or are they being distributed elsewhere as signals for search engines and crawlers?

I just want to better understand how this works in practice so I can use it effectively.

A: Great question. I can see why this part needs a better explanation.

Pings are basically a way to notify indexers and search engines that a link or piece of content exists. This has been used in SEO for years. It does not magically rank a video, but it can help get your video links, embeds, and related assets discovered faster.

VidPenguin2 takes your YouTube video and thumbnail and creates multiple approved link variations from them. There are 32 link variations available, and the software can ping those variations to the selected indexing services.

For syndication, you only need accounts for the platforms you actually want to use. The integrations are optional.

Current integrations include Masher Sites, WordPress.com, Blogger, Amazon S3, Make/Integromat, and Zapier.

Some of those post to properties you control, like your WordPress.com, Blogger, Masher Sites, or Amazon S3 account. Zapier and Make are there so you can send those links into your own custom workflows.

For example, I personally send my video embeds to Amazon S3 and webhook them out to Zapier for additional syndication.

Once your integrations are set up, you can save everything as a template. Then each time you have a new video, you paste in the link, apply the template, and run it. The whole process usually takes about 10 seconds.

That is really the main value of VidPenguin2. I used to do this manually, and it could take me close to an hour per video. VidPenguin2 automates that repetitive SEO syndication process.

I do want to be upfront about one thing: this is not a magic ranking button. No real SEO tool can honestly guarantee that your video will jump to the top of Google or YouTube. What VidPenguin2 does is help create, ping, and syndicate your video assets so they have a better chance of being discovered, indexed, and showing up in Google results over time.

There is a full walkthrough video in the post showing how the software works, and I also documented an example where this process helped get a video into the Google SERPs.

Hope that helps clear it up.
