Q: Question about WhatsApp automation

Hi Release0 team,

I’m looking for a platform to run an automated WhatsApp coaching program.

A user would sign up, answer a few onboarding questions, choose a start date, and then receive automated WhatsApp messages over the following days or weeks.

Can Release0 do this?

Main requirements:

1. Schedule WhatsApp messages based on each user’s chosen start date.
2. Use approved WhatsApp templates outside the 24-hour reply window.
3. Save user answers like name, start date, preferences, and progress.
4. Trigger automated flows when users send words like HELP, STRESS, or RESET.
5. Route conversations to a human if needed.
6. Connect with Stripe, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, or Activepieces.

Would this work natively, or would I need another tool?

Thanks

A: Hi Great use case — thanks for detailing it so clearly.

Release0 can handle a good part of this workflow, but there’s an important limitation to be aware of regarding WhatsApp:

WhatsApp Limitation

Our WhatsApp integration requires that the conversation is initiated by the user.

This means:

* You cannot start conversations proactively (e.g., sending scheduled messages out of the blue)
* This is not a Release0 limitation — it’s a WhatsApp / Meta policy

Messages sent outside the 24-hour window require:

* Pre-approved WhatsApp templates
* Special handling via Meta’s system

What You Can Do with Release0

Once the user initiates the conversation:

* Collect onboarding data (name, preferences, etc.)
* Store variables like start date, progress, answers
* Trigger flows based on keywords (HELP, RESET, etc.)
* Route to human support (e.g., via Chatwoot)
* Integrate with:
* Stripe
* Google Sheets
* Zapier / Make / Activepieces

What Requires External Setup

For your specific requirement:

“Send scheduled WhatsApp messages over days/weeks based on a start date”

This would require:

* A WhatsApp API provider
* Approved message templates
* An external scheduler (e.g., Make, Zapier, backend system)

Release0 can still act as the conversation engine once the user replies, but not as the initiator of outbound campaigns.

Suggested Setup

Many users combine:

* Release0 → conversational logic + automation
* Make / Zapier / backend → scheduling + template sending via WhatsApp API

Log in to join the conversation

Ok great, thanks for getting back to me. The user would initiate the conversation, so that's not the problem. I migth look into ReleasO and see if we make this work
