I have updated this review. I originally gave it to tacos but I have had the luxury of John reaching out to me and explaining the situation.
He explained that he built this software to help with invoicing and it does that it is a very good job of invoicing and perhaps I came on a little bit too strong when I mentioned about the European regulations that are coming in et cetera
This is a big job and I very much appreciate John that you explained to me that it is you doing this and that you want to see and scope out exactly what needs to be done and I appreciate it.
Thank you for taking on board the line items being saved . You already have this in development
A couple of other things about I mean editing an invoice or maybe editing the invoice numbers I think will be really useful as well because I might be an invoice 600 at the moment and if I start issuing invoices that are of the lower number that’s going to cause problems so instead my original two taco I’m going to give it four for the absolute amazing service for personally reaching out as you John which I’ve never seen before from the founders so John well deserved thank you very much a very good system it has challenges but doesn’t everything in life

Richard, that means a huge amount, thank you for taking the time to revisit and update!
On the two new things you flagged:
Editing invoices is already possible today for most fields. If you've hit a specific limitation (e.g. something locked after send), let me know exactly where and I'll either point you to the right control or get it added.
Re Invoice numbering - If you're already on invoice...
Current review only reflects current version and i believe the founder is quickly adding features.
I like how this app is clean and with nice ui, buttons feels responsive and nice. but it feels pretty basic and not many things i can customise
heres some features i wish it had:
-custom fields in the invoices, i need to add things like size, colour, etc. but it doesn't seem to be able to support it - analytics doesn't reflect deleted invoices, i used a few test invoices which i've since deleted and now the analytics has balooned up in unpaid invoices - a simple project management with stages, tasks, etc. would be really nice to have too - ability to attach an additional pdf to the invoice would be awesome because we normally have details of the invoice in the following page - white label the email (the bee icon in the email is kind of huge and not really on brand with our brand.

Thank you, really glad the UI feels clean and responsive to you... that part matters a lot to me. Appreciate you noting that I'm shipping fast too, that's the plan and detailed reviews like this are exactly what shape what comes next!
Great points, let me unpack...
1. Custom fields on invoice line items Adding things like size, colour, SKUs etc. on line items isn't something I've built yet. Just...
I like the simplicity of the software and the clean look. I have a number of other tools, but they usually fall short with the Stripe integration and that was one of the main features I was looking for. The Stripe integration with HoneyBill isn't limited to just credit cards and allow for all the methods of payment that I have setup in my Stripe account, which I love.
There were a few things that I felt were lacking with HoneyBill (listed below). 1. The ability to add attachments/photos to the invoices. 2. The ability to add sales tax by line item instead of the invoice subtotal - some items aren't taxable. 3. More global invoice template settings like terms & conditions and footers, that way they won't have to be entered in with each individual invoice. 4. SMTP email connection instead of only gmail and Outlook. 5. I noticed a lot of the payment methods are just links, it would be great to have actual integrations like the way Stripe is connected, especially for PayPal.
If there is a feedback/roadmap link I should use instead could you please send it my way. Overall, HoneyBill looks promising and is usable the way it is, but with improvements I think it will be great and will workout for me!

Thank you - really glad the Stripe integration is doing what you wanted. I built HoneyBill so that when you connect your Stripe account, every payment method you've enabled there (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank debits, local methods) flows straight through to your invoice checkout....
Most invoicing tools box you into card-only and ignore everything else you've set up, which always felt like...
Good for starters but need some customisation tweaks.
When I first used it, this was just the ging I was looking for.
+ Easy to use + Conversational invoice. + Overall great looks, no fluff
Small downsides (from a personal pov) I was not able to change the the language to my native language so it became partially dutch and english in the mix.
Further more it has some texts as "below are the payment details" that are irrelevant because they are right underneath that line :D
Also the "logo" replacement of the client when this isn't uploaded is bothering me. I came to the conclusion that I just need more control to set everything up especially for the styling of the invoices itself.
Again, good for starters but it needs just a couple of tweaks to make at least make it sufficient for "my" invoicing.
Update: Had contact with John (the owner) and they're already looking into 75% of the feedback I gave. That's a huge plus.
Even better, they're already releasing these fixes today!

Hey Wiebe, really appreciate the detailed feedback here - this is why I love Sumolings!
1. Although the app itself is in English, you can already generate invoice content in any language with HoneyAI using text or voice... But with that said I completely get your point on the actual invoice and payment pages showing a mix of Dutch and English. Going to get that sorted, just added it to the...
