Q: Revoke Button and Waiver of Withdrawal Period
The EU regulation or regulatory framework grants every buyer a 14-day right of withdrawal, which also generally applies, for example, to download products - unless the customer is explicitly informed about the waiver of the right of withdrawal and must confirm this, for example, by checking a box. Does Forento offer the possibility to implement such waiver declarations on the customer's part?
Second thing: Since this year, product providers must offer a simple revoke/withdrawal button on their website that allows buyers to withdraw from products for which they have a right of withdrawal. Again, the question: Does Forento provide the possibility of such a withdrawal button?

Oct 8, 2026A: Hi cameyer,
Thanks for your question. Forento supports both.
1. Waiving the right of withdrawal
Forento has a built-in withdrawal function that you can turn on under Settings → Legal in your dashboard. Once it's on, buyers of courses, videos, downloadable products, and digital-only bundles see a checkbox at checkout. It isn't ticked by default, and the purchase can't be completed until the buyer ticks it. By ticking it, the buyer:
- asks for the content to be made available immediately, during the withdrawal period, and
- confirms that they lose their right of withdrawal once the content is made available.
The text appears in your academy's set language. We store the exact wording the buyer accepted with the purchase and email the buyer a confirmation of the waiver.
Event bookings for a specific date are already exempt from the right of withdrawal, so they don't need a waiver. Memberships and 1:1 sessions keep the full 14-day right of withdrawal.
2. Withdrawal button
The same setting also turns on the withdrawal button required since 19 June 2026. Students see a "Withdraw from contract here" button on their billing page for every purchase still inside its withdrawal period, along with the deadline. A notice with the button also appears on their dashboard. When a student withdraws, they automatically get an acknowledgement by email.
You'll see every withdrawal you receive in the same settings section. From there, you can refund it through Stripe or PayPal with one click, or mark it as handled if you settled it another way.
Please note that the function is off by default, so you'll need to turn it on yourself. We also recommend having your legal advisor review the wording before you do, since we can't give legal advice.
Feel free to reach out through the live chat on our website if you have any other questions or concerns. We're happy to help.
